Our efforts are working. The number of new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia is slowing down. However, the battle is not over. While our frontliners continue to fight the virus for us, many good Samaritans are also stepping forward to assist in any way that they can.
Recently, Petron expressed their gratitude for the frontliners’ service and sacrifice by donating thousands of personal protective equipments (PPEs) to hospitals across seven Malaysian states.

Their donation of 1,200 gowns, 30,000 masks, 60,000 gloves, and 2,100 shoe covers will help replenish the hospitals’ PPE supplies, and provide necessary protection for the frontliners.
The 12 COVID-19 designated hospitals that received the donation included Hospital Selayang (Selangor), Hospital Queen Elizabeth (Kota Kinabalu), and Hospital Sultanah Aminah (Johor).

In order to get the donations to the hospitals, Petron partnered with MERCY Malaysia, an established NGO known for providing medical and health support to communities. Also, to ease the delivery process, Petron donated 10 preloaded PMiles cards worth RM500 each to MERCY Malaysia. As of 13 April, all PPEs have been delivered.
Petron and MERCY Malaysia aren’t the only ones doing good though. In a show of solidarity, Petron partners, station dealers, and lubricant distributors have also been extending a helping hand by making food, water, clothing and cash donations.
We’re loving these heartwarming stories. Keep the goodwill flowing, and soon enough, we’ll win this fight.
