Responding to social media users who claimed that teachers’ job during the pandemic got ‘easier’ and that they’ve been receiving their salaries without doing much work, Wee Cher Wei took to Facebook to share that his dad, who teaches in Alor Setar, Kedah had asked his children if he could borrow one of their laptops to install a software to teach his students online.
Wee See Heian, a technical drawing teacher who is going to retire in six to seven months from now, spent hours by his laptop, trying to master the art of online teaching. His children spent an equal amount of time helping him to set up a comfortable space for his work as well as teaching him how to use the software.
The not-so tech savvy dad told his son that even if one of his students does well for their examinations, he’d be so happy.
