Sheryl Crow has nothing but praise for Kelly Clarkson’s cover of her hit song, “All I Wanna Do.” After Clarkson performed the track on The Kelly Clarkson Show during her Kellyoke segment, Crow couldn’t resist commenting on the performance.

On Instagram, Crow shared a video of Clarkson’s rendition and wrote, “Good grief @kellyclarkson could sing the damn phone book!” Crow went on to add, “I love this version better than mine!!”

Clarkson’s version was both playful and laid-back. Wearing a Buffalo Bills jacket — a nod to guest Hailee Steinfeld, engaged to quarterback Josh Allen — Clarkson took a relaxed approach with the song. She focused on the humor of the lyrics, with a simple vocal delivery that let the witty lines shine, while her band brought a fun energy to the performance.
Afterward, Clarkson expressed her admiration for Crow, telling the audience, “I’m such a fan of hers. She’s been such a cool artist to me from the beginning.”
Released in 1993, “All I Wanna Do” became a massive hit for Crow, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and winning multiple Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year. The song was a pivotal moment in Crow’s career, leading to her rise to stardom. She has since released 12 albums, with her latest, Evolution, hitting shelves in March 2024.
