After three months of intense competition, home appliances supplier Samu Giken Malaysia emerged as the champion of the Malaysia Top E-Commerce Merchant (Top ECM) Awards 2022, walking away with RM12,000 cash prize, a trophy and a certificate.
Rubber slippers company Fipper Marketing (Fipper) clinched the second place while mobile accessories provider Global Synergy Concepts (UNIQ) won the third place, receiving RM10,000 and RM8,000 in cash respectively, as well as trophies and certificates.
The 7th edition Malaysia Top ECM Awards was organised by the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), with Affin Bank Berhad as the main sponsor for the fourth consecutive year. The annual affair was held to recognise the most successful, creative, and innovative homegrown e-commerce merchants.
Samu Giken defeated over 150 vendors!
Samu Giken won an online sales competition against more than 150 brands, where they sell their products on SUBPLACE as the official e-commerce marketplace to encourage merchants to promote their products on new local avenues.

This year’s Top ECM Awards has garnered RM58.9 million in sales and 427,643 orders, an increase of 25.3% from last year’s sales at RM47 million and 358,609 orders.
Launched on 23 August 2022, this year’s Top ECM saw the highest submissions since its first edition in 2016 with 440 applications. This is a 106.6% increase from the previous year’s record of 213 submissions.
This year’s Top ECM also brought in new elements such as the Livestream Festival where participating e-merchants had the chance to promote their products and services through Sidec’s Official Facebook page. The livestream was broadcasted throughout the 4-day Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) 2022, which garnered over 2.3 million total views.

All participating e-merchants were evaluated based on the Online Sales Contest which carried 50%, Livestream Contest (25%) and Business Potential (25%).
The 4th to 10th place winners brought home RM3,000 in cash each, trophies and certificates. They were Atlantic Hitz (Kids United Asia), ITSU World, Shapee Trading & Distribution, Cutie Bright Enterprise, Guan Chong Yan Trading, Offspring and Shong Heng Premier Home Centre.
