According to a study conducted by researchers from the University at Buffalo School of Management, individuals with attractive appearances—those who are beautiful or handsome—are more likely to be offered jobs and receive better performance evaluations.

In contrast, individuals with less attractive appearances can level the playing field by adopting body postures that convey ‘power and confidence. The suggested body posture involves broadening the shoulders, placing the hands on the hips, and tilting the chin upward.
"By adopting physical postures associated with power and confidence, individuals with less attractive appearances can narrow the gap in job-seeking outcomes," explained the study’s author, Min-Hsuan Tu, in a statement.
The study collected data from March 2015 to February 2016, during which participants’ appearances were rated on a scale from one (least attractive) to five (most attractive).
Another study was conducted, and both studies involved 300 participants who took part in a mock job search with a company, followed by a three-minute interview session with a manager.
The results revealed that managers were more likely to offer jobs to individuals who were attractive, beautiful, or handsome, including those who demonstrated appealing body language.
