It’s universal knowledge that even when you have a job you really enjoy, once in a while you’ll find yourself stressed out… especially when you also have a pandemic to worry about.

The effects of stress aren’t pretty: from mood swings, loss of appetite (or an increase of appetite), and tension headaches.

So, what can you do to keep your mind off work, if that’s causing you stress? We have some ideas:

#1 Play with your pets

Your cat trying to get you to pay attention to them? Do it! Pets lower your blood pressure, increase your cardiovascular health, and makes you feel less lonely after a hard day at work.

#2 Bond with your family members

Take some time to catch up with your family members—plan an activity together, whether it’s a family dinner or a morning jog at the park.

#3 Meditate using an app

Apps like Headspace (which is free!) give you instructions on how to meditate. From breathing techniques to motivational sounds, all you have to do is put on your earphones and ‘be in the zone’.

#4 Put on some music and exercise!

If you’re not used to exercising, don’t worry—it doesn’t mean you have to run a marathon right way or lift weights. It can be as easy as walking around the house, or even doing simple stretches.

#5 Squeeze a stress ball

Relieve your work stress by getting yourself a stress ball. It’s convenient—since you can carry it around! Stress balls can help with concentration, blood pressure and anxiety, among other things.

#6 Keep yourself entertained

One of our favourite ways to de-stress from work 😉. Keep work thoughts aside when you watch your favourite shows, like the latest K-dramas featuring your favourite oppa 😍.

And now, you can de-stress with your favourite entertainment for as low as RM99 a month (with savings up to RM840!) by subscribing to Astro & Broadband.

Astro & Broadband is a two-in-one pack that gives you access to Astro AND Maxis broadband with greater savings. Plus, you get to enjoy a one-month broadband fee waiver if you sign-up online.
