Friend A (in car): Hey…What are you waiting for? Jump In… I’ll send you off to the nearest station!
Friend B: Ohh, I just booked a ride! The driver is 8 minutes away…
Friend A: It’s okay! No Harm… Just CANCEL IT LA!
*Friend B cancels booking*
Ever been guilty of the cancel crime?
At some point you’ll want to reconsider before you cancel a ride!
Effective 25 March, Grab Malaysia is imposing a cancellation fee to passengers who cancel or are late to their ride after the allowed amount of time.

The exact charge actually depends on the type of vehicle or service that the passenger has gotten.

However, the passengers won’t be charged if they cancel their booking within five minutes of getting a driver. In fact, the cancellation fee will be waived if the driver does not arrive within 10 minutes after the first-shown estimated time of arrival.
To those who are using GrabPay, the cancellation fee will be deducted directly from GrabPay credits balance or credit/debit card.
For those, paying by cash, the fee will be added automatically to the next ride fare.
Grab also emphasized that 100% of the cancellation fee will be allocated towards the driver as a compensation for his or her time on the road.
We think it’s a fair move. What are your thoughts?
