Over two more weeks to reach target of first phase vaccinations

The government is steadily moving towards its goal of vaccinating 500,000 frontliners during the first phase of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program.
This, as the country is now administering some 30,000 doses a day.
At this rate, the government reckons it needs over two more weeks to reach the target.
In all, over 195,000 people have already received their first dose of the vaccine.

Number of new COVID-19 cases continue to below 2k
Malaysia’s number of new COVID-19 cases is still below 2,000, with 1,448 new infections today.
Selangor had the highest number of cases with 561 infections, followed by Johor and Sarawak.
The Health Ministry also reported five more fatalities, raising the death toll to 1,191.

MOTAC welcomes new RMCO targeted tourism bubble
Domestic tourism will likely see a boost now that a targeted travel bubble for tourism is in effect in Recovery Movement Control Order areas.
The Tourism, Arts, and Culture Ministry has welcomed the move as the bubble will help industry players continue to recover from the effects for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Interstate travel is now allowed between RMCO areas provided they are organized by registered tour companies.
