Khairy: Decision on AstraZeneca in 2 weeks time
Apr 10, 2021
A decision will be made in 2 weeks’ time on whether Malaysia will use the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.
The minister in-charge of the vaccination programme says the government will scrutinise any additional info by the panel of medical experts on the matter.
Khairy Jamaluddin says they have taken note of a report from EU regulators, which concluded that the overall benefits of the AstraZeneca vaccine outweighed the risks.
Malaysia saw a sharp hike in the number of daily cases yesterday, with 1,854 infections.
Sarawak, Selangor, and Penang had the highest number of cases, accounting for more than half of the total.
Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 1,313 after 5 more patients died due to the virus.
The IGP has urged UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to lodge a report, if they believe they
have been slandered in a viral audio recording allegedly between them.
The police have received 7 reports from various parties on the matter so far but none of it was made by the two political leaders or their reps.
Both leaders have dismissed the recording as fake.
