Sarawak to tighten travel restrictions due to COVID-19

Sarawak is set to enforce tighter travel restrictions after it discovered that over 500 COVID-19 cases in the state this year were due to inter-zone movements.
State authorities say as such, starting Monday, inter-zone travel will only be allowed for those in essential services and during emergency situations.
Sarawak recorded 960 cases, the highest number of the country's daily infections tally yesterday.

40 fully vaccinated workers infected by COVID-19, had less severe symptoms
Those who’ve been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, can still be infected by the coronavirus, but with less severe symptoms.
The Health Ministry says this is after 40 fully immunized health workers tested positive for COVID-19.
Because of this, it has reminded that even with the vaccine, people should remain vigilant against the threat of the coronavirus.

NUTP urge schools in high risk areas to be closed
The government has been urged to consider closing schools in high risk COVID-19 areas, as a precaution against the coronavirus.
The National Union of the Teaching Profession says similar steps should also be taken for schools in Kelantan after several areas there were placed under a Movement Control Order.
Meanwhile, it assured that teachers are prepared to deal with their lessons if schools were to be ordered shut.
