Apr 20, 2021

84% attendance rate on first day of phase 2 vaccinations

There was an 84% attendance rate among people who had vaccination appointments on the first day of the National Immunisation Programme's second phase.

Its coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin says while he's satisfied with the number, his people try to increase the attendance rate.

Phase two of the immunisation programme kicked off yesterday, targeting senior citizens, persons with disabilities and those with chronic illnesses.

On another note, Khairy says at least 95 percent of Malaysia's front-line workers have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, under Phase One of the National Immunisation Programme.

He expects the vaccination for all frontliners to be completed by the end of this month.
