moh welcomes tighter quarantine for selected overseas arrivals

The Health Ministry has welcomed the decision to increase the quarantine period for travelers from certain countries.

This, after the government announced that those coming in from countries such as the UK, South Africa, Brazil and Japan will need to undergo a 14-day quarantine instead of 10.

It came as the Health Director-General said four more cases of the highly-infectious South African variant of Covid-19 have been identified in Malaysia, bringing the total number of such cases here to 21 since the start of the year.
