Healthcare system can still cope with Covid-19 cases

healthcare system can still cope with covid-19 cases

The country’s healthcare system is still able to cope with the current Covid-19 situation.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba says we have not yet reached a point where hospitals have to prioritize resources for patients who are more likely to survive.

He explains that even though they are running out of beds at ICU’s, the government is constantly stepping up its capacity and equipment supplies to make sure that everyone gets the treatment they require.

The Health Director-General has called on our medical frontliners to keep up the fight, and help the country break the Covid-19 chain of infection.

He says medical staff are mentally and physically exhausted after over a year of battling the pandemic, but their help is still needed as we face the latest wave of infections.

Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah issued the battle-cry…after visiting healthcare personnel on duty at the Putrajaya hospital on the first day of Raya yesterday.

This, as 4,855 new coronavirus cases were reported yesterday.

Selangor reported the highest number of infections by far, with 1,783 cases.

There were also 27 fatalities recorded yesterday…bringing the country’s overall death toll to 1,788.
