Prasarana to give RM1k aid to each passenger in LRT accident
May 25, 2021
All 213 people who were involved in the Kelana Jaya LRT train accident last night, will each be given RM1,000 in compensation.
Prasarana chairman Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman says they will also cover the victims' medical costs.
He adds that 64 of the passengers are currently in hospital, with six in critical condition including three who need breathing assistance.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigations have found that the cause of the collision between two LRT trains last night was due to human error.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong says the driver of the LRT train without passengers was driving the train in the wrong direction, when it collided with the other train that had 213 passengers.
