Over 2.2 million senior citizens register to be vaccinated

Over 2.2 million senior citizens above the age of 60 have registered to be vaccinated under the Covid-19 National Immunisation Plan.
Its coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin says more than 850,000 of them have received their first dose.
Overall, almost 3.8 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have already been administered nationwide.
Malaysia has reported another 75 deaths from Covid-19, bringing the country's death toll to 3,611.
Total active cases now stand at over 81 thousand, which includes 905 patients in ICUs.
Daily Covid-19 cases breached the 6 thousand mark again yesterday, with 6,239 infections.
Recoveries, however, outnumbered new cases for the third day in a row, after over 7,000 patients recuperated from the coronavirus.
Borrowers will be given more time to repay their PTPTN loans due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Higher Education Ministry says those eligible can defer their payments for 3 months.
Applications can be made via its online portal from today until August 31st.
