The number of patients who recovered from COVID-19 exceeded the number of new infections yesterday.

The Health Ministry reported 7,749 recoveries, compared to 6,849 new cases.

It’s also Malaysia’s highest number of daily recoveries to date.

Recovered patients suffering from Long COVID

66% of level four and five recovering COVID-19 patients have Long COVID, a condition where recovered patients continue to show symptoms for up to 12 weeks.

The Health Ministry says these symptoms include fatigue, insomnia, breathing difficulties, coughing and anxiety.

It says it will schedule appointments for post-release screenings, and urged former patients showing symptoms to immediately seek medical treatment.

Prasarana tightens safety SOPs following Kelana Jaya LRT accident

Prasarana has apologized to all Malaysians, particularly to the passengers who were involved in the LRT train accident along the Kelana Jaya line last month.

It says it has taken steps to boost its safety SOPs and rail maintenance for the Kelana Jaya line service.

It adds that it has also tightened SOPs to tackle any communication issues to ensure that the trains are driven in the right direction.
