Malaysia hits over 200k daily COVID-19 vaccinations

Malaysia has hit a new record of daily COVID-19 vaccinations under the National Immunisation Program.
More than 215,000 people were given the jab yesterday, with more than 70% of doses given to first time recipients.
It's also the first time that daily vaccinations passed the 200,000 mark.
Overall, almost 5 million doses have now been administered nationwide.

China to donate 500k Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine doses
An additional supply of the COVID-19 vaccine is set to arrive in Malaysia, to boost the government’s efforts to achieve herd immunity against the coronavirus.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry says the Chinese government has agreed to contribute half a million doses of the Sinovac vaccine.
This comes after Japan announced that it will donate doses of the AstraZenenca vaccine to Malaysia.

Over 5k new COVID-19 cases today
Malaysia reported a slight drop in new COVID-19 cases, with 5,150 infections today.
Selangor had the most cases at 1,914, followed by Negeri Sembilan, and Sarawak.
Meanwhile, the death toll rose by 73 to 4,142.
