Msia aims to get 60% of the population vaccinated by end-Sept

60% of the population is expected to be vaccinated against Covid-19 by the end of September.
"The government is rapidly increasing the number of vaccination centres to speed up the rollout of the immunization programme. We have set up a number of PPVs or vaccination centres, to ramp up the vaccination rate. We target an additional 1000 GPs from the private sector to start administering vaccines by the end of this month.”
Immunisation Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says it’s possible as another 32 million doses are due to arrive soon.
Malaysia’s number of Covid-19 cases rose to past the 5 thousand mark yesterday.
5,244 cases were detected nationwide, with Selangor having the most cases.
Negeri Sembilan had the second most infections, followed by Sarawak and KL with over 500 cases each.
A doctor has been fined RM5,000 in Kangar, Perlis for posting inaccurate information regarding the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine on social media.
According to Harian Metro, he was charged with spreading fake news with the intention of causing public fear through a video posted on a Facebook account.
