Malaysia’s number of new COVID-19 cases rose past the 8 thousand mark.

8,868 infections were detected nationwide, with almost half of the total detected in Selangor alone.

According to Health Ministry data, KL had the second most cases at 1,133, ahead of Negeri Sembilan.

It also recorded 135 fatalities, which is the highest number of deaths due to the virus.

No barbed wire fences during Seremban EMCO

Barbed wire fences will not be set up around Seremban, which will be placed under the Enhanced MCO from midnight tonight.

Police say they will instead mount two more roadblocks along the Rantau border.

They add that 300 officers and army personnel will be deployed to ensure SOP compliance.

9% of population now fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Almost 7 million people have already received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, over 3 million people are now fully vaccinated, accounting for some 9% of the population.

The National Immunisation Program also set a new record for daily vaccinations, after 375,000 doses were administered yesterday.
