All adults in Malaysia are expected to be fully vaccinated by October!

The Prime Minister says the government will aim to administer up to 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines a day to achieve this.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin adds, at this rate, all states would also achieve a 70% vaccination rate by September.

The Health Ministry recorded 153 Covid-19 fatalities yesterday, the highest daily death toll to date.

This raises the total number of deaths to over 7,000.

Daily cases, however, dropped to 10,710 with Selangor accounting for most cases.

Almost 5,000 vehicles were ordered to turn back at roadblocks last Friday, the highest number since the National Recovery Plan was implemented.

The Deputy Prime Minister says those ordered to turn back were believed to be heading to their hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha.

Meanwhile, police will not accept MITI letters for interstate travel until Wednesday to prevent them from being abused.
