Malaysia's active Covid-19 cases breach 210,000

Active Covid-19 cases in the country have breached 210,000.
This is after Malaysia logged a record-high 19,819 cases yesterday.
257 fatalities were reported yesterday - the highest number recorded since the start of the pandemic.
Over a thousand patients are currently in ICUs, while 553 are relying on ventilator support.
UMNO has challenged the Perikatan Nasional administration to immediately call for a special sitting of Parliament to test PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's majority.
Its President says he has sent another letter to the King to submit an additional number of statutory declarations of more UMNO MPs withdrawing support for Muhyiddin and the PN government.
This comes after Tan Sri Muhyiddin said yesterday that he will remain as PM and will test his majority in the Dewan Rakyat during the September sitting.
The field hospital constructed for Covid-19 patients at the Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah car park in Klang is expected to be open for use tomorrow.
Its director says the field hospital is undergoing final checks by the Fire and Rescue Department and Armed Forces personnel.
