31 bn lawmakers back perikatan nasional govt

31 Barisan Nasional lawmakers remain committed to the current Perikatan Nasional government.

DPM and UMNO Vice President Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says they will do so until the government's legitimacy is ascertained in Parliament next month.

He adds that with the confidence vote set to be tabled in Parliament, Istana Negara will no longer receive any statutory declarations over the PM's majority among MPs

PM to chair special COVID-19 meeting to review existing strategies

There are growing concerns over the country’s worsening coronavirus outbreak.

As such, PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says he will chair a special meeting next week, to review existing measures to combat the current situation.

He says among others, authorities will work to improve strategies that are no longer deemed effective.

On another note, Tan Sri Muhyiddin says he is ready to face any outcome following the confidence vote at Parliament in September.

He is hopeful that lawmakers will make the best decision, considering the ongoing COVID pandemic.

Malaysia hits yet another record of daily COVID cases

Malaysia reported a record breaking 20,889 new COVID-19 cases today.

The Klang Valley accounted for more than half of the total.

Meanwhile, Johor, Sabah, and Kedah had over 1,000 infections each.
