Health Ministry reports first COVID death linked to Parliament

A government official has become the first COVID-19 death linked to Parliament.
The Health Ministry says the deceased had a history of attending last month’s special Dewan Rakyat Sitting.
Meanwhile, it reported nine more infections, raising its total number of cases to 97.
Five samples that underwent genomic sequencing, were found to be linked to the fast-spreading Delta variant.

COVID-19 death toll surpasses 11k, after 200 more fatalities
Malaysia’s COVID-19 death toll has breached the 11,000 mark, after 201 patients died due to the virus yesterday.
According to the Health Ministry, the death toll now stands at 11,162.
It also reported 19,991 new infections nationwide, with the bulk of the total detected in the Klang Valley.

Health Ministry: Stern action against those falsifying digital COVID vaccination certificate
The Health Ministry has warned that stern action will be taken against anyone who tries to forge the COVID vaccination certificate on the MySejahtera app.
It assures that authorities will up their efforts to ensure the authenticity of such certificates.
Certain fully vaccinated residents can now enjoy several SOP exemptions, such as dining in at restaurants, and travelling between districts.
