MMA hopes Khairy will settle long-term healthcare issues

Medical experts are looking forward to forge a closer working relationship with the Health Ministry under its new minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

The Malaysian Medical Association regarded the MOH as the most important ministry as the country struggles to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.

The MMA is also hoping that Khairy will be able to resolve longstanding issues such as permanent positions for contract doctors.

The newly-minted youth and sports Minister says youths will play an important role as the economy recovers.

Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who pledged to empower youths says his ministry has an important role to strengthen the "Keluarga Malaysia" concept.

Malaysia reported 339 deaths from Covid-19 yesterday, with 99 cases classified as brought-in-dead.

This as the Health Ministry confirmed 22,070 new Covid-19 cases.
