Klang Valley may move to Phase 2 of NRP soon

The Prime Minister wants vaccination rates within adults in 6 states to reach 50% by the end of next month.

“Perak (46.5%), Terengganu (46.2%), Johor (44.9%), Kedah (43.2%), Kelantan (43.1%), and Sabah (37.1%)”

As such, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob instructed the vaccine authorities to use the existing supply of vaccine in the country and not wait until the arrival of the additional supply ordered.

The Prime Minister says the Klang Valley is likely to enter Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan soon.

This, as 89.5% of the region’s adult population have been fully vaccinated, which is close to the herd immunity threshold.

The mega PPV at the KL World Trade Centre has given out 1 million Covid-19 vaccine doses to Klang Valley residents since it began operations on May 5.

This makes it the first vaccination centre in Malaysia to administer more than a million doses.
