Gym reopening subject to NSC approval
Sep 17, 2021
Gyms in states under Phase Two and Three of the national recovery plan will only be allowed to operate after the National Security Council has gazetted the relevant SOPs.
However, only those who are fully vaccinated will be allowed to enter the premises.
The basic SOPs of physical distancing, wearing of face mask, use of hand sanitisers, and ensuring all equipment are constantly sanitised, must be complied with.
The low Covid-19 positivity rate among prospective holidaymakers heading for the newly opened Langkawi travel bubble bodes well for more such initiatives to be set up.
The Health Ministry says some 2,500 people had undergone pre-departure screening up until yesterday, with only 5 testing positive for Covid-19.
All of them were asymptomatic and ordered to quarantine at home for 10 days.
Malaysia continued to record a high number of Covid-19 related cases in ICUs with 1,222 cases.
Out of the total, 913 were confirmed Covid-19 cases, while 309 were suspected cases and cases under investigation.
This as the Health Ministry reported 18,815 Covid-19 cases nationwide yesterday.
