PM hints of interstate travel within a few weeks
Sep 25, 2021
There is a possibility that interstate travel will be allowed within the next few weeks!
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob hinted that this could happen soon due to the positive development of the vaccination rate.
The PM had earlier assured that interstate travel and tourism activities will be allowed to resume when the vaccination rate for adults reaches 90%.
So far, 81.8% of adults in Malaysia have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Malaysia has started negotiations to procure Covid-19 vaccines for children under the age of 12.
The Health Minister says a vaccine manufacturer is in the process of submitting clinical data for approval by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.
Khairy Jamaluddin adds that the government is expecting to immunise all eligible adults and teens by year-end.
The Health Ministry will shorten the dosing interval for those getting the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine second dose by three weeks.
Starting next Friday, the dosing interval for AZ will be shortened from nine to six weeks.
