Oct 05, 2021
Nearly 150 people have tested Covid-19 positive in Langkawi so far.
The Health Ministry says since the island was reopened two weeks ago around 40 thousand people have been screened at air and sea entry points.
Meanwhile, a high-end hotel there has been temporarily ordered to close as a precaution against Covid-19.
This is after state health officials confirmed more than 50 staff and their family members tested positive for Covid-19.
The emergence of the Dah Teluk Nibung cluster has been categorised as a workplace cluster.
The government will allow the mixing and matching of Covid-19 vaccines from different brands for booster shots.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says studies on the safety of heterologous vaccination have already been carried out.
However, he did not mention whether the individual can choose which booster shot they want to take.
Daily Covid-19 cases in the country dropped again yesterday to 8,075.
It’s the second day in a row that daily infections fell below the 10 thousand mark.
Sarawak and Kelantan were the only states with over 1 thousand cases each.
