The tourism bubble project in Langkawi will not be affected, despite a recent Covid-19 outbreak at a hotel there.

The Kedah Menteri Besar has assured that all necessary measures have been taken, to deal with the situation.

The hotel had been temporarily ordered to close after more than 50 of its employees tested positive for the coronavirus.

Malaysia reported a slight rise in new COVID-19 cases yesterday, at 8,817 .

This means daily infections have remained below 5 figures for a third day in a row.

The Health Ministry says Sarawak, Selangor, and Kelantan were the only states with over 1 thousand cases each.
