Interstate travel will be a new challenge for Malaysia

The Health Minister says Malaysia will face a new challenge, once interstate travel is allowed again.
It’s because it will be difficult to monitor the movements of those who refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
As such, Khairy Jamaluddin says it will be up to us to continue to follow existing guidelines.
However, he has assured that authorities will continue with efforts to ensure SOP compliance.

Malaysia agrees to buy Molnupiravir as COVID-19 treatment
Malaysia has agreed to purchase the antiviral drug Molnupiravir to treat COVID-19 patients.
The Health Minister says according to research, the drug can lower hospital admissions by half.
It is also effective against variants such as Delta, Gamma, and Mu.
Meanwhile, Khairy Jamaluddin pointed out that the move does not mean vaccinations are no longer needed.
He says the drug is only beneficial for those who are infected.

New COVID-19 cases below 5 figures for 5th consecutive day
Daily COVID-19 infections in the country rose to 9,890 today.
It’s the fifth day in a row that new cases stayed below five figures.
The Health Ministry says Sarawak had the most cases, ahead of Selangor, and Kelantan.
Labuan had none.
