Oct 08, 2021
The government will not make Covid-19 booster shots mandatory.
However, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says they will highly recommend it for certain people such as senior citizens, people with comorbidities and frontline healthcare workers.
The person’s vaccination status will not be affected if they do not get booster shots.
Individuals who are not vaccinated against Covid-19 will not be stopped from travelling interstate.
However, they must continue adhering to existing SOPs set by the National Security Council.
The Health Ministry says it is not feasible to enforce roadblocks and check people’s vaccination status adding that PDRM will continue to conduct random inspections.
The Health Ministry will abide by the cabinet’s decision on the Melaka state election.
It has shared its views on holding the polls in light of the Covid-19 situation, but the cabinet also has to consider legal and constitutional issues.
The state assembly was dissolved on Tuesday following the collapse of the BN-led government with the withdrawal of support from 4 assemblymen.
