MATTA Wants Generous Budget Allocation

Tourism industry playersis hoping to see a generous alocation for the sector under Budget 2022.
The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents, MATTA says this will help them recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
This includes providing soft loans to companies to help rebuild their infrastructure, and to retain and retrain staff.
It also suggested providing travel stimulus packages and tax incentives for personal and corporate travel.

Slight Drop in Daily COVID Cases
5,516 new COVID19 cases were reported in Malaysia today.
This about 230 cases lower than yesterday's number of infections.
Meanwhile, more than 22 million adults in Malaysia are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19

MMA: Ban House Visits, Ceramah Ahead of Melaka Election
The Malaysian Medical Association wants authorities to limit the types of campaigning that'll be allowed ahead of the Melaka state election.
This includes banning physical activities like house visits and gatherings.
Instead, any campainging must be done online.
The MMA says this must be done, in order to limit the threat of COVID-19.
It says while the country has a high vaccination rate, those who are innoculated can still spread the coronavirus to high-risk groups.
