The KL High Court has sentenced  six university students to 18 years' jail, for causing the death of marine cadet officer Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain in 2017.

The six escaped the gallows, after the court found the accused guilty of causing grievous hurt with no intent of murder.

Of the six, five of them along with 12 other students were sentenced to three years in prison, after being found guilty of injuring Zulfarhan.

The jail terms will run concurrently.
