Parents urged to ensure teens don't miss their vaccination

Parents and guardians are reminded to ensure that teenagers turn up for their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Authorities say there’ve been several cases of adolescents missing their second appointments.
They add that the second dose rate was supposed to reach 80 percent next week.
However, because of the missed appointments, we will only hit this figure in late November or early December.
The number of new Covid-19 cases remains on an uptrend.
5,731 new infections were reported yesterday, compared to 5,200-plus the day before.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has also reported over a thousand cases of the Delta variant between October 29th and yesterday.

Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming Melaka state election.
The Election Commission says 254 nomination forms have been sold since October 18th.
Barisan Nasional should be announcing its list of candidates tomorrow, ahead of nomination day on November 8th.
Pakatan Harapan, meanwhile is still finalizing its lineup.
It says PKR, Amanah and DAP have already submitted their choices…with the PH presidential council to decide on the final list.

The high tide phenomenon has hit several states.
It affected Jalan Telok Gong and Jalan Kem in Port Klang this morning…causing traffic congestion there.
MW, high tides caused sea water to flood a market area in Kuala Kedah at midnight, and fire and rescue officials there have been put on standby.
Earlier, weather officials warned that high tides would hit Selangor and Kedah, as well as Perak and Johor this week.
