Eight states have now been affected by flooding

The flood situation nationwide continues to worsen.
As at 12.30PM…there were more than 21,000 flood evacuees in eight states.
Pahang remains the worst affected with over 10,000 evacuees…followed by Selangor with 5,400-plus flood victims.
Kelantan also has evacuees in the four-figures…with over 4,000 seeking shelter at relief centers there.
KL, Terengganu, Melaka, Perak and Negeri Sembilan are the other affected states.
The government says there are over 5,700 relief centers nationwide, capable of accommodating up to 1.6 million evacuees.
Precautions are also being taken to screen all victims for Covid-19…to prevent an outbreak among the evacuees.

The Prime Minister says tens of thousands of security personnel have been deployed to assist with flood relief efforts.
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the priority is to get those at risk to safety…and provide them with essential supplies.
Meanwhile, parts of KL, Selangor, Pahang and Perak can expect more heavy and continuous rain today.
The Met Department has issued a red alert weather warning for these areas.

And, Rapid KL has suspended part of its bus service…due to the flooding in the Klang Valley.
