Weather conditions in several flood-hit states to improve

Flood victims in eight states in the Peninsular can heave a sigh of relief!
This, as weather conditions in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang are expected to improve.
The MET Department says its earlier warning on continuous heavy rainfall has ended.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department says floods in the Klang Valley have begun to recede.
However, there are still areas near rivers, such as Taman Sri Muda, where the water appears to be stagnant.
Several areas in Shah Alam, Taman Sri Nanding and Batu 18 in Hulu Langat are also still flooded.
Vaccinees who are affected by the floods and have missed their vaccine appointment will be given a new appointment.
They may also register as a waitlist or backup list at a nearby vaccination centre once the situation permits.
The SMART tunnel has set a new record of sorts when it was activated for about 22 hours to divert the rising waters of Sungai Klang following continuous rain.
The Environment and Water Ministry says this had spared areas in the heart of KL such as Masjid Jamek from major floods.
