Flood damaged textbooks to be replaced for free

School students need not worry about their textbooks that were damaged due to floods.
The Education Minister says it’s because flood-hit students will have their textbooks replaced for free.
Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin adds that replacement efforts will be conducted immediately, to ensure the schooling session next week runs smoothly.
Over 260,000 textbooks were damaged during the floods.

Close to 86% heads of households receive cash aid for floor relief
Nearly 86% of heads of households affected by the recent floods have now received cash aid under the government’s Bantuan Wang Ihsan initiative.
PM Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob reminded those who have yet to register for the aid to contact the Disaster Command Centre and their district offices.
Under the initiative, flood-stricken households will receive RM1,000 ringgit.

Girl in viral video on balcony not punished by parents

KL police have dismissed allegations that a girl was being punished by her parents after she was seen standing on the ledge of a condominium balcony.
Cops say the five-year-old had allegedly gone to the balcony to look at the condo’s swimming pool.
They add that the girl was told to return inside soon after.
A video of the incident went viral on social media.
