Frontliners reminded to get the booster shot
Jan 22, 2022
The government has reminded frontliners, especially medical workers, to get their COVID-19 booster shots.
The Health Ministry says it’s a precaution against a possible spike in new cases which could overwhelm the country’s healthcare system.
Meanwhile, its Director General says booster jabs are needed after a certain period to ensure recipients’ immunity remains at an optimum level.
He says studies by the Institute of Clinical Research in Malaysia have found that immunity among Sinovac recipients dropped by 40% three to five months after receiving the second dose.
