A decision has yet to be made on whether to tighten or enforce new COVID-19 SOPs on school operations, following a rise in education clusters.

The Education Ministry says it is awaiting reports from district education offices regarding the current situation.

For now, all teachers, students, and school staff are reminded to continue to follow existing SOPs.

The Health Minister says no lockdowns or heavy compounds will be imposed.

Khairy Jamaluddin reminded the rakyat to wear a face mask, especially in crowded areas, get tested, and take the booster shot.

The government plans to pass a legislation this year, which will bring an end to smoking for a generation.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says the country hopes to ban the sale of tobacco and other smoking products to anyone born after 2005.

It’s part of efforts in preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases.
