Only certain COVID patients to visit CAC

Feb 07, 2022

only certain covid patients to visit cac

Low-risk COVID-19 patients who are in categories 1 and 2A are not required to visit COVID Assessment Centres.

The Health Minister says instead, they must self-monitor their symptoms by reporting on MySejahtera while undergoing quarantine at home.

Khairy Jamaluddin adds that high-risk patients or those in category 2B and above are encouraged to visit the nearest CAC for further examination.

He says it’s to avoid congestion at CACs as Malaysia is expected to experience a surge in infections due to the Omicron variant.

The Health Minister has once again reminded senior citizens to take the COVID-19 booster shot immediately.

Khairy Jamaluddin says even though the Omicron variant is not as aggressive as Delta, senior citizens are still categorised as high-risk individuals.

Khairy adds that all senior citizens and adult Sinovac recipients must receive the booster dose this month.

It’s because those who fail to do so will lose their fully vaccinated status from March 1st.
