Stop using COVID-19 as an excuse
A group representing unions and workers organisations has told employers to stop using COVID-19 as an excuse NOT to raise the minimum wage.
The group says employees suffered just as much as employers during the pandemic, and their sacrifices should not be ignored.
It was responding to theMalaysian Employers Federation, who said that the proposal to rase the minimum wage to 1,500 would kill businesses.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers suggests a GRADUAL increase of the minimum wage, to help cushion its impact.
