BKM cash payment to start March 28

Phase one of the government’s Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia initiative will be given out in stages starting next Monday.
The Prime Minister says cash aid between RM100 to RM300 will be paid out based on the eligibility of each recipient involving over 8 million people.
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob adds that for those who do not have a back account, payment will begin from March 30th through BSN branches.
The cash aid was announced under Budget 2022 to benefit those in the low-income group.

FMM wants gradual minimum wage adjustment
The government has been urged to reconsider its decision to immediately increase the minimum wage to RM1,500 in May.
The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers says its because the 25% rise in basic salary could have a negative effect on business and economic recovery.
As such, it proposed for the minimum wage adjustment to be done gradually, with a RM100 increase in the third quarter of this year.

Daily COVID cases below 20k since February
Daily COVID-19 infections fell by some 3,000 cases to 19,105 yesterday.
It’s the first time that new cases dropped below the 20,000-mark since early February.
Meanwhile, a further 71 deaths were reported nationwide, including 26 brought in dead cases.
Perak and Kedah had the most fatalities, followed by Johor, and Selangor.
There were also more than 28,000 recoveries.
