Seek immediate treatment for kids with HFMD symptoms

The Health Minister has advised parents to immediately bring their children to health facilities if they show symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease.
Khairy Jamaluddin has also instructed all state health departments to take interventive action, especially making announcements to district health offices and residents, regarding the disease in their respective areas.
This, as over 31,000 hand, foot, and mouth diseases have been reported so far this year, which is 15 times more than the same period last year.

12 childcare centres in Melaka have been ordered to close after the state reported a
spike in hand, foot, and mouth disease cases.
State authorities say the rise was reported after the Aidilfitri holidays, due to travel movement and the reopening of such premises.
Melaka has recorded nearly 1,400 cases so far this year, which is over 24 times more than the same period last year.

Investigations into houseman death almost complete
Police say investigations into the recent death of a houseman from Penang Hospital are almost complete, however no criminal element has so far been found.
Cops have recorded statements from 21 people, including the victim’s family members, colleagues, and hospital doctors.
They add that the investigation paper will be sent to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s office soon.
