Hospitals urged to report any shortage of manpower
Jun 08, 2022
The Health Minister has urged hospitals to inform the ministry of any shortage of medical officers, to prevent doctors from being overworked.
Khairy Jamaluddin says hospital directors and department heads must not keep silent over the matter, to enable the relevant authorities to take action.
As such, he says the ministry will look into the matter and take necessary action to resolve the issue.
He was responding to a viral complaint by a medical officer, who claimed his wife was forced to undertake on-call duty alone at a hospital in Perak, due to a lack of manpower.
