Concern over bankruptcy cases involving youth

The government is concerned about the rising number of bankruptcy cases involving youth.

The Prime Minister says he will speak to Bank Negara and other relevant agencies about the various measures to curb the problem.

This will include a study on the possibility of further raising the bankruptcy threshold…which had already been raised to 100 thousand ringgit back in 2020.

Cases of influenza-like-illness in the country are still under control.

This, despite the emergence of several clusters involving boarding schools.

The Health Minister assured that this in only a common infection that would emerge from time to time, adding that the increase in cases is expected with the lifting of Covid movement control orders.

The Consumers Association of Penang wants the authorities to revoke the licences of owners who allow their vehicles to be driven by unlicensed individuals.

This, after the JPJ revealed that there’ve been some 55 thousand traffic offences involving those without a valid licence in the first five months of the year.

The bulk of the offences involved parents allowing their underaged kids to drive without a license.

The Finance Minister says the total amount of subsidies for this year is expected to reach nearly 80 billion ringgit…which is the highest amount in our history.

This includes fuel, food and electricity subsidies…as well as the various social welfare assistance packages.
