Man remanded for 7 days for allegedly killing mother

A man in Melaka has been remanded for seven days as part of investigations into the death of his mother.
The man allegedly stabbed the woman to death after claiming to have heard voices telling him to do so.
Meanwhile, police told Astro Awani that the suspect has tested positive for drugs.
Initial investigations found that the suspect had sought psychiatric treatment a few years ago, and had two records of drug-related offences.

PLUS expects 1.9 million motorists during Hari Raya Haji period
Some 1.9 million motorists are expected to travel via the North-South Expressway from tomorrow until next Tuesday for the Hari Raya Aidiladha festive period.
As such, PLUS Malaysia has advised road users to plan their journeys ahead and follow its Travel Time Advisory.
Among others, those from the Klang Valley heading towards destinations including Perlis, Kedah, and Perak are advised to enter the highway before 10 in the morning.

Education Ministry did not fund extravagant PTA program
The Education Minister has denied allegations that the ministry funded an extravagant parent-teacher association program in Kelantan.
Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin says the program was funded by the Tanah Merah MP.
He was referring to a program, which reportedly had 100 roasted goats, and lucky draw prizes including a car, motorcycles, smartphones, and livestock, among others.
