Stable and reliable supply following major blackout

TNB has assured that Malaysia’s electricity supply is reliable and stable, after supplies were promptly restored following the blackout yesterday.
It says the incident was caused by a malfunction at a main substation in Johor, adding that the breakdown was an isolated case and is fully operational.
Several areas were affected by the blackout, including parts of the Klang Valley.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received 11 emergency calls involving people being trapped in elevators during the power outage.

More Msias now aware of hepatitis
More Malaysians are now aware of hepatitis and are coming forward to undergo checkups.
The Senior Principal Director for the Health Ministry’s Disease Control Division told us that in 2021, an average of 116 individuals in every ten thousand people suffered from Hepatitis B.
This is compared to 126 patients in every ten thousand people in 2015.
He said this in conjunction with World Hepatitis Day today, with this year’s theme: Hepatitis Can’t Wait.

Police investigating alleged abuse case involving seven-year-old girl
Police are investigating an incident in which a seven-year-old girl with autism was allegedly abused by a school teacher in Penang.
It’s believed the teacher held the victim’s ears when she was acting aggressively in class, causing them to bruise.
This comes after a photo of the victim’s injuries went viral on social media.
