Persons with disabilities will get free rides for a month, on all public transport services under Prasarana Malaysia.

The Transport Ministry says this includes the LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT and Rapid bus services.

It begins today in conjunction with National Day celebrations, and is available for those with a disabled card registered with the Social Welfare Department.

Police have recorded the statement of a security guard, who allegedly flew a drone during yesterday’s National Day parade at Dataran Merdeka.

Reports say a total of four illegally-flown drones were taken down over the course of the event.

It comes after the Civil Aviation Authority this week warned the public not to fly drones without authorization at the venue, so as not to endanger the low-flying aircraft taking part in the event.

Separately, the cops have denied rumours on social media, that there had been a robbery at a popular hill-top resort.

Bentong police say no such report has been lodged, while the resort later issued a statement, saying there had been a problem with a false fire alarm.

The Malaysian Medical Association is suggesting that we no longer make it mandatory to wear face masks indoors.

It says the only exception should be for certain modes of public transport where people are crammed close together…as well as facilities that care for the elderly and the immunocompromised.

The MMA explains that the Covid-19 situation in Malaysia is now stable, while other countries have also already eased their mask mandates.
