Several states hit by floods

The water level of Sungai Padang Terap in Kedah remains above the danger level.
The state’s Civil Defence Force says three other rivers are currently above the warning level, due to rain in the surrounding area last night.
This, as more than 150 flood evacuees are seeking shelter at a relief center in Baling, as at this morning.
Elsewhere, the JKM portal says there are currently 24 evacuees in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan…and 16 in Kapit, Sarawak.
Meanwhile, the Star reports that 43 people have been forced to evacuate in Penampang, while the flooding in Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran appears to have improved.
In a related development, the Met Department has issued a warning for strong winds and rough seas in the waters off western Sabah and Labuan from Wednesday to Saturday.

New recoveries outnumbered new Covid-19 cases…with 1,800 recoveries recorded yesterday, compared to 1,400-plus infections.
There were also two additional Covid-related fatalities, one of which was a brought-in-dead case.
