EC to meet on Oct 20 to discuss GE15

The Election Commission will meet next Thursday, October 20^th…to discuss the upcoming GE15.

The EC says the meeting will focus on determining the dates for nomination and polling day.

A press conference will be held after the discussion, to announce the decision to the public.

Meanwhile, Pakatan Harapan is set to make a decision today, whether to dissolve the Penang state assembly simultaneously with Parliament.

The issue of Negeri Sembilan’s potential dissolution of its assembly will also be discussed.

This, after the Selangor Menteri Besar said the state will only dissolve its assembly next year.

Warisan is proposing that Sabahans and Sarawakians based in peninsular Malaysia, be allowed to register as postal voters.

The party deputy president says this is because many may find it too costly to return home to these two states vote, amid high airline ticket prices.

Johor is the latest state to be affected by flooding again, with 17 evacuees currently seeking shelter at a relief center in JB.

According to the JKM Portal…there are also about a hundred-plus evacuees in Sabah and 33 in Sarawak.

And elsewhere, Singapore says 15 out of every 100 Covid-19 cases in the republic are re-infections…warning that this could amount to a new wave if cases continue climbing.
